Michael A. Airdo and Mollie Werwas presented a Pre-Conference Workshop at the Resource Center for Religious Institutes’ National Conference, held in Dallas, Texas, on October 4, 2022. The presentation entitled, “Religious Institutes in a ‘Fingers Crossed’ Post-COVID World,” discussed a wide range of issues currently impacting religious institutes and their ministries. Topics discussed included how COVID-19 has affected the drafting of contracts; the current state of abuse claims, including amendments to statutes of limitations and the need for well-drafted abuse prevention policies; and how the pandemic has changed the vast landscape of employment law.
