Marcia Przeslawski Coaches Law Student Team For National ABA Arbitration Competition
Marcia Przeslawski recently coached a student team to compete in the 2021-2022 ABA Law Student Division’s regional Arbitration Competition held over the weekend of November 19 and 20, 2021. Marcia has been a volunteer coach for University of Illinois Chicago School of Law’s Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution since 2017. She coaches student arbitration teams each fall and has coached negotiation and mediation teams in the spring. This year’s topic was a case regarding a contested will. Marcia taught her students about presenting opening statements and closing summations for an arbitration. Moreover, she taught her students the trial skills needed to effectively direct and cross examine witnesses. Marcia says arbitration is very much like a trial and the student competitions are excellent practice for gaining confidence needed to practice law once the students are admitted to the bar. Marcia competed in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration competitions during her law school career at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Marcia is a civil litigator and transactional attorney at Airdo Werwas, LLC experienced in negotiating contracts for her clients and resolving disputes through mediation and arbitration.
