About
Matthew T. Lehmann focuses his practice on advising public-sector clients on insurance matters, complex litigation, and multijurisdictional compliance. His practice focuses especially on issues relating to tendering claims for coverage, enforcing risk-transfer agreements, and pursuing claims for contribution and indemnity to increase economic efficiencies for his clients. Matthew frequently applies his research and writing skills to be involved in preparation of dispositive motions and the Firm’s appellate practice across a variety of fields.
Matthew also serves as one of the Firm’s Election Law specialists. In that role, he has experience in every step of the election process, from reviewing nomination petitions for potential issues, through drafting an Electoral Board decision and representing the Board during administrative review of its decision. In his time reviewing Election matters, Matthew has gained experience in analyzing complex election issues and researching novel issues of law.
Prior to joining the firm, Matthew handled both transactional and litigation matters: he managed contract drafting and compliance at a multinational company, and gained courtroom experience with the Missouri State Public Defender and the Chicago Transit Authority. His diverse background informs a comprehensive approach to advising public entities through complex legal environments.
Matthew earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2024, where he earned Dean’s List honors. He brings multistate capability through his Texas Bar licensure and holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
