This Women's History Month, we recognize Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy of the 28th District. With a working-class background and decades of professional experience in health care and social services, Leader Murphy brings a unique perspective to the General Assembly, serving as Assistant Majority Leader and chairing the Committee on Executive Appointments. A champion for responsible governance, education, and public safety, she views government as “an entity that should work toward the betterment of the people.” She is also the proud mother of Michael Jekot, one of the Firm’s law clerks and an aspiring attorney. We commend her leadership and decades of dedicated public service.
