Saint Monica Feast Day

On August 27, we celebrate the Feast of Saint Monica, remembered for her perseverance in prayer and for the profound influence she had on the life of her son, Saint Augustine.

Near the end of her life, while far from home, Monica offered a simple expression of the faith that had carried her through years of uncertainty: "Nothing is far from God." Her patience, persistence, and steadfast hope remain central to her story, particularly in the years she spent praying for Augustine before his conversion.

As a firm fortunate enough to work with the Augustinians of the Midwest, whose spiritual tradition is rooted in the life and teachings of Saint Augustine, we are especially glad to recognize the feast of his mother, whose faith helped shape his story and legacy.
