Tomorrow, Founding Member Michael A. Airdo will be presenting a webinar for members of the Resource Center for Religious Institutes (RCRI) titled, “External Review Boards: Structure, Training, and Effective Use,” alongside Sister Sharon Euart, RSM, JCD, Executive Director of RCRI.
As Religious Institutes continue their important work protecting children and vulnerable adults, this webinar will explore the role, function, and best practices surrounding External Review Boards from a civil legal perspective.
The webinar will provide practical guidance on the establishment and operation of External Review Boards as part of sound governance, accountability, and risk management. Topics will include determining whether an External Review Board is appropriate for an organization, selecting qualified and independent board members, structuring effective training and ongoing education, and understanding how Review Boards should function within existing leadership and governance structures.
The session will also address the role of legal counsel in the Review Board process, including important considerations surrounding privilege and discovery in civil litigation.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside RCRI in supporting Religious Institutes through these important educational discussions and ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, accountability, and mission-focused leadership
