Happy Columbus Day!

On Columbus Day, we recognize the Italian heritage of Christopher Columbus and reflect on the generations of Italian Americans whose stories have helped shape our nation's history.

For many, this holiday holds a special significance as a celebration of heritage, perseverance, and the generations of families who came to America in search of greater opportunity. Despite facing prejudice and hardship, Italian immigrants established communities, preserved their traditions, and built legacies that continue to enrich American life.

Michael Airdo, one of our Founding Members, has family roots in southern Italy. Coming to America from Calabria and Naples, the Aiardo (original surname) and Belvedere Families came to this nation in search of a better life and, in the spirit of exploration, we are grateful they landed here!

At Airdo Werwas, we recognize the importance of honoring the histories and contributions of the communities that have helped shape our country, and the enduring values of faith, family, and service that continue to bring people together.

Happy Columbus Day!
