Airdo Werwas to Present at the LeadingAge Missouri’s Annual Conference

LeadingAge Missouri

James Jansen and Mollie Werwas will present at the LeadingAge Missouri’s Annual Conference on September 18, 2023. Their presentation, entitled “Staffing Agency Potholes? How to Avoid Unnecessary Legal Issues Involving Staffing Agency Workers,” will give an overview of the legal issues that can arise in staffing agency relationships, including determining joint-employer status and mechanisms for requiring agencies to share responsibility in liability claims. Attendees will learn about common mistakes by facilities that can create unexpected joint-employer scenarios, as well as tips for negotiating staffing agency contracts to insulate the facility from liability when an agency-employee or other contract worker is negligent. The presentation will include examples from real cases and attendees will leave with recommendations, best practices, and advice for working with agencies and contractors.
