Michael A. Airdo’s Panel Discussion on “Vulnerable Persons and the Law: Canonical Perspectives from the Diocese, the Seminary, and Religious Institutes,” has been published in the Canon Law Society of America’s Proceedings of the Eighty-Fourth Annual Convention. This article discusses several key issues regarding “vulnerable persons” from the perspective of religious orders. It also outlines the civil legal concerns relevant to all religious institutes that minister to those who may be susceptible to adult misconduct.
