Mark J. Kimzey presented on Legal Concerns & Best Practices for Caseworkers at the Illinois Township Association of General Assistance Caseworkers Workshop on January 26, 2023. The presentation explored key legal issues for caseworkers, including confidentiality, policies and procedures, and recordkeeping, with a focus on practical considerations and best practices to avoid potential liability and protect themselves and their organizations. Legal concerns related to disclosure obligations under the Public Aid Code, Illinois Supreme Court Rules, and Freedom of Information Act were also discussed.
