Michael A. Airdo and Mark J. Kimzey look forward to presenting the Mental Health Board Training Academy, organized by the Metropolitan Township Association (MTA), at Hanover Township on Saturday, June 27.
Designed for Mental Health Board members, administrators, and township officials, this practical training will provide a comprehensive overview of the legal, operational, and oversight responsibilities associated with serving on a 708 Board. Topics will include statutory authority and governance, Open Meetings Act and FOIA compliance, contracting for services, financial oversight, performance measurement, accountability mechanisms, and navigating the relationship between a 708 Board and the township board.
Communities rely on 708 Boards to fund, oversee, and evaluate services that support individuals with mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. This program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to strengthen oversight, fulfill fiduciary responsibilities, and ensure public resources are used effectively to meet the needs of their communities.
