Attorneys from Airdo Werwas Present at ITAA Annual Educational Seminar

Last Friday, attorneys from Airdo Werwas, LLC, were honored to participate in the Illinois Township Attorneys Association (ITAA) Annual Educational Seminar held at Hanover Township.

Mark J. Kimzey, Annual Seminar Director, presented “OH, SNAP! Changes in Federal Assistance Programs and the Role of Townships,” addressing evolving federal assistance programs and the important role townships continue to play in serving their communities. Mark also participated in the “Ask the Township Attorney” Panel and the “Employment Law Panel,” contributing practical insight and perspective on issues facing township officials and attorneys today.

Jake A. Leahy also presented “Demystifying Property Tax Objections: What Township Officials Need to Know,” providing practical guidance on the property tax objection process and considerations for township officials.

We extend our sincere thanks to Ross Secler, President of the Illinois Township Attorneys Association (ITAA) and Partner at Odelson, Murphey, Frazier & McGrath, Ltd., for his leadership and vision in coordinating this year’s program.

We are also deeply grateful to Brian P. McGuire, Supervisor of Hanover Township, and the entire Hanover Township team for hosting this meaningful event, and to Jerry Crabtree, Executive Director of the Township Officials of Illinois, for his ongoing commitment to supporting townships throughout the state.

We were honored to welcome Senator Cristina Castro, who opened the program with a legislative update and thoughtful remarks on the issues currently before the General Assembly. Her insights, grounded in both her state-level leadership and local government background, were a highlight of the day.

Thank you to all who attended this Seminar. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with township officials and attorneys from across Illinois and to be part of these important conversations.
