Elizabeth Yanan is a Senior Counsel at Airdo Werwas who advises employers on labor and employment matters, including workplace investigations, employee relations, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. She brings valuable in-house experience counseling corporate leadership and human resources teams on complex workplace issues affecting multi-state operations.
Elizabeth regularly advises employers on a broad range of workplace matters, including discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour compliance, disability accommodations, leave management, discipline, and terminations. She has extensive experience conducting internal workplace investigations and developing strategies to mitigate legal risk while helping organizations navigate evolving employment laws. Elizabeth also has experience responding to administrative charges before agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state civil rights agencies, as well as managing employment-related disputes and working closely with outside counsel.
In addition to her advisory work, Elizabeth has experience drafting employment agreements, separation agreements, and workplace policies to ensure compliance with federal and state law. She also has experience supporting traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining agreement interpretation, grievance responses, and arbitration preparation.
Elizabeth earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was a Thomas More Scholar and a Vis Moot Fellow. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Northwestern University. Elizabeth is admitted to practice in Illinois and holds a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys creative pursuits such as painting and playing the piano.
