Marcia is an experienced business litigation and transactional attorney licensed to practice law in Illinois and Indiana. Marcia’s law practice focuses primarily on representing individuals and both big and small business owners with their legal matters.
Marcia represents and defends individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, and not-for-profit corporations in a variety of commercial and employment disputes including partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, member disputes, and contract disputes. Additionally, she advises clients on transactional matters including contract drafting, review, and negotiation, real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, donations, corporate governance, municipal governance, policy formation, and various compliance issues.
Marcia is originally from Albee Township in Saginaw County Michigan. She grew up with two sisters on a small farm run by her parents. She graduated from Chesaning High School in 2007 and University of Michigan School of Art and Design (now Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design) in 2011 obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Art degree.
Marcia chose to pursue a career in law in order to pursue her love for reading, writing, and helping others. Marcia has now been working in the legal industry for over a decade. She began her career in Chicago after graduating from The John Marshall Law School (now University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) in 2017, obtaining her Juris Doctor degree and Illinois license. Thereafter, Marcia moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, with her husband and obtained her Indiana license in 2020.
During her law school career, Marcia was President of the Corporate Law Association, she competed nationally on teams with the Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Program, she was a teaching assistant for Contracts and Torts, and she enrolled in multiple legal clinics, including the Pro Bono Litigation Clinic, the Business Enterprise Law Clinic, and the Fair Housing Support Center and Clinic.
Marcia has served as a coach for University of Illinois Chicago School of Law’s Trial Advocacy Dispute Resolution Program for many years, coaching teams of law students that compete nationally each spring and fall in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration competitions.
