Today we begin the season of Lent with the observance of Ash Wednesday.
As ashes are placed on the forehead and we hear the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” we are reminded of our shared humanity and our dependence on God’s mercy. Ash Wednesday marks the start of a season centered on reflection, discipline, and renewal.
In his 2026 Lenten message, Pope Leo XIV calls the faithful to a deeper form of conversion — encouraging us to abstain from harsh words and rash judgment. The discipline of Lent, he reminds us, extends beyond personal sacrifice to how we lead, serve, and engage with one another.
At Airdo Werwas, LLC, we work alongside communities of faith as they navigate the important responsibilities entrusted to them. Seasons such as Lent offer an opportunity to reflect not only personally, but institutionally — reinforcing values of humility, accountability, and thoughtful leadership.
We extend our best wishes for a meaningful and renewing Lenten season to all who observe.
