Recognizing the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy

We are honored to recognize the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy and, in a special way, Sister Donata Farbaniec, ISMM, and Sister Caterina Esselen, ISMM, during this Catholic Sisters week.

Rooted in a spirituality centered on mercy, the Congregation continues its global mission of proclaiming the message of Divine Mercy — a mission closely associated with Saint Faustina Kowalska and faithfully carried forward by the Sisters today.

Originally from Rymanów, Poland, Sister Donata has shared the message of Divine Mercy through retreats, parish missions, and congresses both in the United States and abroad. Her ministry reflects a deep commitment to evangelization and to helping others encounter the hope found in God’s mercy.

Sister Caterina entered the Congregation in 1995 and made her perpetual profession in 2003. She has proclaimed the message of Divine Mercy in parishes, schools, conferences, and prisons, bringing renewal and encouragement to many. Having previously served in vocation and formation leadership, she now serves as Superior of the Sisters’ community in Boston, where she continues to foster growth and mission.

Together, Sister Donata and Sister Caterina reflect the Congregation’s enduring dedication to mercy, formation, and faithful service. We are grateful for their leadership and honored to support their continued work.
