Recognizing the Sisters of St. Francis of Holy Cross

Women’s History Month and Catholic Sisters Week invite us to celebrate the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross and their enduring witness of faith and service. Among the many remarkable women in the congregation, we would like to highlight a few Sisters whose leadership reflects the strength of their community and with whom we have been privileged to work directly.

Sister Rose Jochmann, OSF, has served for decades with dedication and care, including over 34 years as community treasurer. A former teacher and principal, she brings both wisdom and practical stewardship to her ministry. Her commitment to sustainability, including efforts such as the installation of solar panels at the convent, reflects her thoughtful vision for the future. Her guiding theme, “In God we live and move and have our being,” continues to shape her life of service.

Sister Jane Riha, OSF, has devoted her ministry to education and pastoral leadership. Serving as a teacher, principal, and parish director, she has focused on formation and strengthening community life, drawing on her strong educational background and deep gratitude for the Franciscan charism.

Sister Mary Kabat, OSF, has served as Development Director since 2003, helping cultivate relationships and advance the congregation’s mission. With a background in education and service on the Community’s Leadership Team, she continues to support and sustain the Sisters’ outreach with dedication and care.

We are proud to recognize these Sisters and the faithful leadership they offer within the broader Franciscan community.
