As we celebrate Women’s History Month in this March, we are grateful for the enduring mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart, whose global commitment to education and service continues to reveal God’s love in transformative ways.
We offer special recognition to Sister Suzanne Cooke, Provincial of the U.S.–Canada Province. A lifelong educator and visionary leader, Sister Suzanne has shaped generations through her leadership of Sacred Heart schools and her role with the Conference of Sacred Heart Education. Now guiding the Province with collaboration and thoughtful direction, she continues to strengthen the future of Sacred Heart formation and mission.
We also recognize Sister Marina Hernandez, whose ministry reflects both depth and breadth of service. From provincial leadership and financial stewardship to school leadership, community organizing, and advocacy for refugees and marginalized persons, Sister Marina embodies compassion rooted in justice. Her witness demonstrates how faith-filled leadership can meet the needs of every context it touches.
Together, Sisters Suzanne and Marina reflect the heart of the Sacred Heart charism — education, courage, and love lived in action.
