CHICAGO – Aug. 19, 2025 – The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) has elected Michael A. Airdo, a founding member of Airdo Werwas, LLC, in Chicago, as a new member of the IADC Board of Directors for 2025-26. The announcement was made at the organization’s 2025 Annual Meeting July 10 in Québec City, Québec, Canada.
The IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.
A member of the IADC since 2011, Mr. Airdo also currently serves as the president of the IADC Foundation. With the IADC, he has served as chair of the Technology, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Social Justice Pro Bono committees.
With Airdo Werwas, LLC, Mr. Airdo focuses his practice on the handling of complex civil litigation matters, including healthcare litigation, the defense of long-term care and assisted living facilities, catastrophic personal injury claims, local government matters, and cases involving corporations, religious and other nonprofit entities, retail establishments, educational facilities, and trade associations.
Mr. Airdo also is a frequent lecturer on topics related to his legal practice, including board governance and fiduciary liabilities, local government risk management, retailer risks, and safe environment best practices for child-serving organizations.
Mr. Airdo earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, with honors, Order of Coif, and his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from DePaul University.
