We are proud to announce that Michael A. Airdo, Mollie N. Werwas, James C. Jansen, and Lauren K. McKenzie will be presenting at the LeadingAge Illinois Annual Meeting & Expo on July 22–23, 2025. As trusted legal counsel to long-term care providers, we are committed to supporting leaders in this field as they navigate legal challenges and deliver care to vulnerable populations.
This year’s presentations will address core legal concerns impacting long-term care operations, compliance, and workforce strategy. Our attorneys will lead four sessions:
Michael A. Airdo and Mollie N. Werwas will present “Managing a Crisis: Crisis Planning for Resident Safety and Facility Reputation”, where they will explore proactive planning tools and legal communication strategies to mitigate harm during adverse events and preserve public trust.
They will also join Dorrie Seyfried, Vice President Risk Management Services at IPMG, to present “Documenting Success: How Strong Record Keeping and Investigations Protect Your Facility”, focusing on how sound investigation procedures and documentation practices can improve resident outcomes and provide a strong legal defense when issues arise.
James C. Jansen and Lauren K. McKenzie will present “The Contractual Safety Net: Avoiding Liability Through Risk Management Provisions”, helping providers understand how to structure contracts with vendors to minimize risk exposure through well-drafted indemnification and insurance clauses.
Finally, James and Lauren will also lead “Managing the Employee Lifecycle”, a presentation that walks providers through risk-aware practices in hiring, policy enforcement, and termination, all with the goal of preventing costly disputes and supporting an effective care environment.
We look forward to engaging with long-term care professionals and sharing practical tools to support compliance, enhance quality of care, and protect the mission of aging services providers.
