As we celebrate Women’s History Month and Catholic Sisters Week this March, we are grateful for the lasting witness of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. For more than 180 years, their commitment to education, justice, and compassionate service has transformed communities and opened doors of opportunity for countless individuals.
We are especially proud to recognize Sister Maureen Delaney, whose decades of ministry embody that mission in action. From founding and leading the Tutwiler Community Education Center in the Mississippi Delta to serving as Provincial Leader and helping establish Holy Names Educational Ministries, Sister Maureen’s vision and dedication continue to shape lives and strengthen Catholic education for generations to come.
Her leadership reflects both courage and hope — a testament to the enduring impact of women religious who respond to the needs of their time with faith and conviction.
