Recognizing Sister Nancy Bauer, OSB

In honor of Women’s History Month and Catholic Sisters Week, we are proud to recognize Sister Nancy Bauer, OSB, President of the Monastic Congregation of Saint Benedict.

For more than four years, Sister Nancy has provided steady and faith-filled leadership to a federation of ten Benedictine women’s monasteries across the United States, helping sustain and strengthen the vitality of Benedictine monastic life. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to preserving tradition while thoughtfully guiding communities forward.

Prior to her current role, Sister Nancy served as Prioress of Saint Benedict’s Monastery and as Vice Chancellor for the Diocese of St. Cloud, offering thoughtful governance rooted in prayer, discernment, and service. In every role, she models the Benedictine balance of contemplation and action.

Sister Nancy’s witness reminds us that leadership grounded in prayer and community has a lasting and transformative impact. We are honored to recognize her dedication and the example she continues to set for women religious across the country.
